DESCRIPTION:Broadway Bowling Club is delighted to announce that it has been selected by Bowls England to host the regional final of the Walker Cup\, one of the most prestigious competitions in the English lawn bowls calendar\, on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th May 2025. \nOften likened to hosting an FA Cup semi-final in football\, the Walker Cup is a major highlight of the national women’s bowls season with this event contested by Worcestershire\, Warwickshire\, Gloucestershire\, and Herefordshire. Being chosen to stage this elite-level event is both a great honour and a responsibility\, reflecting the exceptional quality of Broadway’s facilities\, the superb condition of its bowling green\, and the dedication of its organising committee. \nClub Chairperson Mark Riley commented:\n“To be entrusted with an event of this calibre by Bowls England is a huge compliment to our club. It recognises the hard work of our volunteers and the standards we strive to maintain. We’re incredibly proud of our bowling green and to bringing a national competition of this prestige to our village\, We look forward to welcoming players and supporters from all over the region.” \nThe two-day event is expected to draw some of the best female bowlers in England\, as well as a strong crowd of spectators\, making it a fantastic opportunity for the local community to experience top-tier sport in a vibrant and welcoming setting. \nBroadway Bowling Club extends an open invitation to residents\, visitors\, and bowls fans to come and enjoy a weekend of high-level competition\, community spirit\, and sporting excellence.

DESCRIPTION:Bowls’ Big Weekend is a national event taking place from  Friday 24th to Monday 27th May\, giving you the opportunity to give bowls a go\, for FREE! \nAt Broadway Bowling Club we will be opening our doors to anyone who wants to try a new sport\, have some fun with friends and family\, or meet new people.    \nDon’t know anything about bowls? Don’t worry! Whether you’re completely new to the game or have played before\, there will be a warm welcome waiting for you\, and a helping hand if you want any tips!   \nNo need to bring anything with you as our club will have all the equipment you need – We’ll also be offering refreshments\, in case you work up an appetite on the green.  \nPlease wear flat soled shoes and arrive between 10am and Noon on the 25th May. \nBacon Butties\, tea and coffee from 10am provided.
